Toasted Peaches Over Ice Cream
An amazing hot cold dessert for summer - I will be making this forever.
INGREDIENTS YOU WILL NEED:
Fresh peaches, sliced in half, pit removed - 6
Vanilla ice cream - 3-ish scoops (who am I to tell you how much ice cream… but I do about a scoop per two peach halves)
Maple syrup - 2 1/2 tbsp
Brown sugar - 2 tbsp
Cinnamon - 2 tsp
Butter - 4 tbsp
UTENSILS I’D SUGGEST HAVING:
Saucepan
Tongs
Ice cream scoop
ORDER OF OPERATIONS:
Melt butter in pan and add seasoned peaches facedown.
After the peach has browned, flip.
Add maple syrup to the pan not pouring directly on the peach.
Sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar along the top of the fruit and flip again
After brown, serve with scooped ice cream on top or on the side.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat? No
Melt butter in pan and add seasoned peaches facedown, do not flip
After the peach has lightly browned, about 4 mins, use tongs to flip it. Add maple syrup to the pan not pouring directly on the peach.
Sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar along the top of the fruit and in 2-3 more minutes, flip peach again facedown.
After the peach has browned and the sugar/maple mixture is bubbly in the pan, remove from heat.
Tip: You’re looking for the peach to be softened but not mushy, so that you can cut through it with a spoon, but it doesn’t fall apart in your tongs.
Serve with scooped ice cream
Enjoy!
