BLT + A Double Decker Sammich
A simple sandwich, made with very specific high quality ingredients, becomes a GREAT sammich.
INGREDIENTS YOU WILL NEED:
Heirloom or beefsteak tomatoes - 2 slices
Honey wheat or sourdough bread - 3 slices
Bacon, cooked (instructions below) - 4 slices
Ripe avocado - 1/2 of one
Romaine lettuce, washed - 1-2 leaves
Duke’s mayo - 1-2 tbsp
Kosher salt - 1/8 tsp (sprinkle)
Black pepper - 1/4 tsp + a sprinkle for the bacon
UTENSILS I’D SUGGEST HAVING:
Butterknife
Cutting board
Chopping knife
Baking sheet (for bacon)
Wire rack (for bacon)
Fork
Spoon
Small bowl
Toaster
ORDER OF OPERATIONS:
Bake bacon
Cut up and mash avocado in a bowl, set aside
Slice and season tomatoes
Build sandwich

Sandwich
Lightly toast all your bread pieces and set aside.
Slice your tomatoes into medium-thick slices and salt and pepper them to taste (suggested measurements listed above)
Add mayo and light salt and pepper to two slices of bread - only mayo on the third
Begin building your sammich: toast > tomato > bacon > lettuce, and pause.
Take a second piece of toast and on the non-mayo side, spread your mashed avocado and place it avocado side-down on top of your sandwich.
Then finished your sammich build: tomato > bacon > lettuce > final piece of toast.
